June issue out Friday

MM160 June
issue out Friday

The June issue of Mini Magazine is out on Friday May 8, and this month’s issue is bumper to bumper with top Mini articles.

First off, we have Darrin Butcher’s amazing Mini 50 tribute car. Its classic styling is a nod to the original Minis but he’s treated it to the coolest trick parts on the market today, showing us what he thinks a Mini 50 car should look like.

We’ve also got the story of the decade long resto of a Wood & Pickett Margrave which had to be carefully rebuilt to its former glory, with a few personal touches from its owner.

Then we head into the darkest corners of the British Motor Heritage archive to see what is on offer at Gaydon’s 50 years of the Mini exhibition this May. We see some of Issigonis’ sketches and documents that haven’t seen the light in many years, and are now on display at the museum.

Following on from the twin cam dyno day last month we take a closer inspection of Colin Milne’s sleeper Mini to find out what he is using to make 88bhp at the wheels and a shed load of torque.

Across the pond Graham Reid shows off his historic Mini Cooper S racer, keeping it in period spec and still running it around the circuit.

In one of the most entertaining stories we’ve read the British paid of Lewis Woodcock and Ben Kemp continue their perilous trek to Mongolia, will they make it, will the Mini make it? Find out here.

As the summer approaches we take a look at how to make the most of the show season without breaking the bank, and we have a couple of competitions where you can win a load of camping kit and breakdown cover for your Mini!

We’ve gone competition mad this month as we’ve also got a set of very special Paddy Hopkirk Limited Edition SPAX dampers up for grabs. With only 500 sets made we’ve got set number 50 on offer, which are pretty much priceless. Then there is the chance to win two places on the Italian Job tour for the price of one.
If that wasn’t enough you can also grab free tickets to the Silverstone Classic show in July and if you’ve got kids then you might want to enter for a Mini-friendly pushchair worth £275. Aren’t we good to you?

But that’s not all! Duncan Mortimer tells us about his third Round the World trip in his Mini and we keep you up to date with latest racing exploits and news from the Mini scene.

In tech this month learn how to give your Mini a retro look, change your rocker gasket, find out about the how the crank works and what mods can be made to it and Keith Calver jumps into the swamp of information about oil, in his Masterclass. On test this month we have some cool in-car video cameras for recording those magic moments from the summer, and as usual the best new products.

With all of this and still more, you really can’t miss this issue of Mini Magazine, available at all WHSmiths stores and all good newsagents.
