British Mini Day: Himley Hall

British Mini Day: Himley Hall

Join us at British Mini Day at Himley Hall on May 10, and enjoy beautiful stately home surroundings and some of the best Minis in the country.

Welcome to British Mini Day…
The ever-popular British Mini Day at Himley Hall takes place on the May 10, 2009, near Dudley in the heart of the Midlands. This is the complete Mini enthusiast’s event, brought to you by the British Mini Club. This superb outdoor show is open to owners of both the classic Mini and new MINI, held in the grounds of a beautiful stately home and park. Last year’s event was one of our biggest to date and attracted well over 7000 visitors. So come along and enjoy a wonderful day in the country with the British Mini Club. It will be a perfect way to continue the celebrations for Mini 50. And it really is 50 years since our favourite car was born, with the first cars built in the spring of 1959.
David Hollis, British Mini Club

Win a Mini
The British Mini Club shows are famous for the chance to win a Mini for a £1, and for the Mini 50 year the club has lined up some very special cars indeed. At Himley it’s a ‘Golden Mini’, a B-reg Mini Mayfair in gold paint. This minter has covered just 10,500 miles from new, and is a one-owner car with MoT and tax. Show sponsors Footman James Insurance will also provide up to £250 towards the insurance.

Special displays
The show will feature two special displays, as well as the club stands and concours area. One display will be of cars from the 1959 Mini Register, with a selection of some of the very earliest survivors to drool over. At the newer end of the scale will be a display of limited edition Minis, showing off some of the specials that became so much a part of the Mini story in the 1980s and 1990s.

Club stands

Clubs always put their best wheel forward for Himley Hall, and the prize for the Best Club Stand is highly coveted. Or is it just that everyone loves an excuse for some fancy dress? The theme this year will be the Mini’s Golden Anniversary. Create the best golden-themed stand and your club could win £200.

Trade Stands
Himley Hall attracts most of the top traders in the Mini scene, and sees some fierce competition to offer buyers the best possible deals. From styling and interior trim to major mechanical parts, you can expect to find whatever you need amongst the trade stands. In all, there will be around 60 traders, including:

Mini Sport
Footman James Insurance
Auto Glym
Midland Wheel Supplies
Mini Spares Centre
Huddersfield Spares
Somerford Mini
Auto Quip Ltd
Die Cast Heroes

There will also be photographs of all Minis as they arrive at Himley Hall, with the pictures available to buy from images company 4x4 Navigation.
