![]() ![]() this was not the first time i had fibre glassed but it was the first time i had done it like this so i was learning as i went, i originally rubbed it down flat but it just looked really plane so i used stonechip paint meant for fake stone fire places ( ie my dads mdf one ) im very very happy with the way it turned out ![]() ![]() there are more pics of the dash in my photobucket album |

now i know i have missed massive amounts of my build out but i feel there the least important bits, if you seen something you like the look of in one of the pics chances are i have how its made shots of it, and dont mind posting up, certain bits are top secret but im sure we all have are little secrets lol
![]() almost everything had been made by me, by hand a hack saw / file / grinder / welder / drill are the tools of choice i was in a mad rush to get it ready for avon park but missed out on 2 intercooler hoses that i coincidently picked up on the way down so in theory i could have taken it, I was at mitp with it, it was its first outing, not been rolling roaded completely un settup, i tinkered with it on the saturday got it nicely into boost data logging all the way with the laptop sat next to me i could see it running dangerously lean straight into boost, swapped carb needles ( i wet prepared :P) heaver carb spring thinker carb damper oil more fuel was on its way ( and so was the beer ) so i called it a night, on the sunday first run hooked up pretty well then boost came on and on and on infact i lifted before it stopped rising so i just coast and burn, coast and burn to the line ( the best run-in is a hard run-in ) it must have been over 30psi so i wound a little pre load of the actuator, checked compression all was good went for a second run same again but i expected it this time so continue with the hard run-in up the drag strip the datalogs from my 3rd run show the boost settling around 23psi in first and second but alot of dett in 3rd gear at anything over 12psi boost (luckily i know what to listen for as ive almost destroyed an engine like this before )so i just throttled it to the line, and pulling a 15s run i wound all the preload of this time, literally just enough to take up the slack on the wastegate, gave it a little more fuel and i also knocked afew degrees off the advance map on boost to make sure it was running safe, i ran again a steady 13psi it worked well pulling low 15s runs and checking the compression every couple runs |

a little update on this, the cinq rad was never quite up to scratch so i looked around at hundreds of stock rads for dimensions settled on 7 different rads of various sizes that fit quite well, bought one that just fit on paper... it turned out to be alot bigger than the book value but with a beautifully efficient aluminium core i stuck with it... shortly after i started cutting the front i realised i had made a bad choice....
it took alot of cutting and welding but now its done i love it, i can even squeeze a grill over the top |
