Laoni Weeks | Event Reports | 23/05/2011 13:05pmThe 2011 London to Brighton Run once again proved its popularity on May 15 with 2000-plus runners and a brilliant turnout of visitors to the static show at the Brighton end. Having been liberated from manning a Minimag stand at this year’s event, Features Editor Jeff Ruggles and Editor Mark Robinson were able to get around to see a lot more of what was happening at both Crystal Palace and Madeira Drive. There will be a full report in the August (188) issue of Minimag (on sale from July 1), but until then, have a browse through our picture gallery.

British Mini Day pictures now online
Laoni Weeks | Event Reports | 23/05/2011 12:06pmIt was good to see that a large number of people ignored the gloomy forecast for the British Mini Club’s British Mini Day at Himley Hall on May 8. There was lots to see, with some fantastic displays of Minis and imaginative club displays, as well as a good selection of traders offering Mini parts and merchandise. We got to speak to a large number of people who visit the stand, and most commented on what an enjoyable day they were having. What made the event even more special was that former Minimag Editor, Helen Webster, debuted her restored Hornet here, and was rewarded for nearly five years’ work with a trophy for first place in the Mini Variants concours class.

As always, it was fantastic to meet lots of readers on the Mini Magazine stand, and to take a good look at a some really impressive new projects making their first appearance in public. We’ll have a full report in the next issue of Mini Magazine, but in the meantime we’ve put together a collection of pics our art editor, Daz Bourne, took while he was enjoying the day.
